The Shared Library Services Partnership (SLSP) is a Public Health Ontario project built on four pre-existing libraries:
Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU), Kingston, Frontenac Lennox & Addington Public Health (KFL&A), Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU), and Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU).
Our goal is to provide Ontario Public Health Units without in-house libraries access to current information and library services. The SLSP is designed to support and strengthen relationships and promote knowledge exchange among public health units. For more information on the partnership, please visit Public Health Ontario.
The SLSP provides the following services to clients:
- Comprehensive Literature Searches
- Article Retrieval & Document Delivery
- Answers to Reference Questions
- Library-Related Training
- Help-Desk (technical issues related to library resources)
- Book loans
The Shared Library Services Partnership has been successful in developing and operating an innovative and cost-effective partnership to deliver a wide range of library services across Ontario’s public health system. Public Health Ontario published an evaluation report of the Shared Library Services Partnership in 2016.
